Description
Young Oliver Samaja arrives at the prestigious Francis Morris Morton Mission High School (Framomo) to join Form One. Oliver’s father is an old boy of the school and believes, along with other parents, that this is the right school to turn their boys into men. The new students soon discover, as expected, that they will not find respect or acceptance easy to come by, not least from the older students. They do find teachers who genuinely care for the boys, but as time goes by, the rot in the school is found to trickle down from the top. As Oliver and his classmates go through the seemingly mandatory and punitive bullying from prefects, older students, staff and even their own classmates, it starts to get physically dangerous for the boys. The confused young men resolve to fight for themselves in a school where a “MONO” (derogatory term for a high school freshman) has no voice. But it could cost them more than they are willing to sacrifice. Will Oliver and his friends survive Framomo?
